Huelles Folcloriada Medellín is an event organised by the CORPORACION VIALIBRE ARTE COLOMBIA (VLAC) and its brand KAMADO SHOWMAKER, accompanied by the sub sector of Danza Folclórica de Medellín and surrounding municipalities, with the stated aim of continuing to promote projects for the growth and development of Colombian folk dance, in addition to seeking to create more spaces for study, reflection, practice and enjoyment. The second staging of this event is supported by the Colombian Ministry of Culture and the second convention of Apoyos Concertados Artísticos y Culturales Medellín in 2014.

 

The third edition of Huellas Folcloriada Medellín, titled “Un Encuentro con la Tradición” (“A Meeting with Tradition”) will take place from 25th September to 4th October, showcasing performances in dance that bring together more than 40 companies invited from the city of Medellín, the Antioquia region and from across the entire country.

 

 

This “Meeting” aims to improve the visibility of the artistic work of folk dance groups in a way that conveys the country`s culture and roots. This is achieved through both its staging and other more contemporary styles; on theatre stages and in everyday city spaces, including discussions, practical theatrical workshops and performances.
